4th & 5th Axis Milling Head for Aerospace Machining
A Taiwanese machine tool manufacturer needed a 4th & 5th axis head for full 5 axis contour machining that met Boeing’s accuracy specifications. The head assembly was developed using zero backlash gearing, preloaded bearings and ductile iron castings for vibration damping. Also included in the design was direct position feedback with a resolution of 0.3 arc seconds.

Abrasion & Adhesion Testing Equipment for Films
A consumer products company needed testing equipment to evaluate the adhesion and abrasion resistance of coatings for cookware. This machine was developed to perform these tests to allow the customer to perform comparative tests and QC tests on production parts.

Material Handling Equipment for the Nested Based Manufacturing

Servo Press Feeder
A customer needed the flexibility of servo feeding of strip into a punch press. Punch presses are retrofitted with push pull servo feeding systems to provide end to end punching of extruded material at 150 strokes per minute. This system allows multiple punch patterns to be applied down the length of a part.

CNC Retrofit of 6 Axis Horizontal Boring Mill with GE Fanuc Control
A large foundry required that an older, large 6 axis boring mill be retrofitted with new GE Fanuc 16M controls. The installed system provides simultaneous 6 axis control of linear and rotary axis.


Large Automated Rotary Transfer System
A plastics customer developed a unique chemical processing line that required precise control in the dipping of parts. To minimize labor, a 12’ diameter rotary system was developed so that a single operator could both load and unload the line. Individual servo controlled stations were designed to allow precise control over each station.


90 Ton Steel Coil Car Transfer System
A steel customer installed 2 steel processing lines in a plant. The flow of steel required that slit coils of steel pass from one bay of the building to another bay prohibiting the use of a crane for moving the steel. A ground level car system was designed and installed to move up to 90 tons of steel at a time from the discharge of one machine to the entry point of the next machine.
